Small, lightweight and easy to take with you, the Cap Ferrat Small Hot Water Bottle brings comforting warmth exactly where you need it. Hold it between cold hands, rest it against tired feet or sore, aching muscles, keep it on your lap while working or reading, or take it with you on cold winter days.

Its compact size also makes it a wonderful travel companion. Slip it into your luggage for weekends away, train journeys or long-haul flights, when a little extra warmth can make all the difference.

Covered in surplus Italian wool and linen tweed and lined with 100% pure mulberry silk, it is softly padded with natural wool. The natural wool padding helps to hold the warmth while giving the bottle its soft, comfortable feel against the body.

The Cap Ferrat collection was inspired by a summer spent with my family on Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, and the colours I remember from our long morning walks by the sea.

The soft greens, sandy tones and cool greys of the surplus Italian tweed recall the pine trees, coastal paths and blue Mediterranean of Cap Ferrat. Found in limited quantity, the fabric has been given a new life in The Beauty Sleeper collection.

Compact enough to take with you, beautiful enough to leave out when you are home.

Handmade in very limited quantities. Once the fabric is gone, it is gone.

Why Warmth Matters

There is something instinctively comforting about warmth.

For generations, hot water bottles have been used to warm cold feet, ease tired muscles and bring comfort before sleep. Gentle warmth can help the body relax and make the transition from day to night feel a little easier.

Craftsmanship

Our pieces are designed in Copenhagen and handcrafted in small quantities by a family-run sewing studio in Shanghai, a city with a long tradition of working with silk.

We work closely with our Danish-based partner, who oversees the making of each piece. Every piece is carefully cut, sewn and finished by hand, with close attention to the details that make it comfortable to use and beautiful to live with, night after night.

For selected designs, we work with surplus and deadstock fabrics, allowing beautiful existing materials to find a new purpose.

Fabric & Care

This handcrafted hot water bottle cover is made from Italian surplus wool and linen tweed, giving a beautiful existing fabric a new purpose.

The exterior is a blend of 58% wool and 42% linen, with a lining of 100% pure mulberry silk, chosen for its exceptionally smooth, soft feel against the skin. A layer of natural wool sits between the fabrics, adding gentle insulation and helping to hold the warmth while giving the hot water bottle its softly padded, comfortable feel against the body.

Remove the rubber bottle before washing the cover. Wash on a wool or silk programme at a maximum of 30°C using a specialist wool and silk detergent. Do not tumble dry. Lay flat or hang to dry away from direct sunlight. Iron on low heat if needed.

Free shipping is available on orders over DKK 2,000 within Denmark and €450 on international orders.

Orders placed before 12 noon on working days are dispatched the same day. Orders placed after 12 noon are dispatched within 1–3 working days.

Inspired by Cap Ferrat

Inspired by a family holiday on the Cap Ferrat peninsula on the French Riviera, one of those rare places that feels both impossibly beautiful and quietly unhurried at the same time.
We spent our days walking the coastal paths around the headland, where pine trees line the clifftops and the Mediterranean stretches out in every shade of blue imaginable.
Long, slow afternoons on the beach in the shade of the pines, and swims in the most extraordinary clear water.
All around us, effortlessly chic French women and men who seemed to wear their elegance as naturally as the landscape itself, linen shirts, sun-kissed skin and not a hair out of place even after an afternoon in the sea.
The Cap Ferrat sleep mask and hot water bottles were made to carry a little of that feeling into the night, the warmth of the sun, the stillness of the water and the deep, effortless sleep that only comes when you have truly slowed down.

Is the Silk Cover Removable?

Yes. The cover is fully removable, allowing you to take out the rubber bottle before washing or airing the cover.

It opens at the top and has an internal pocket that fits over the neck of the bottle, helping to keep it securely in place and fully covered. The ribbon closure makes it easy to remove and replace the bottle when needed.

How Does the Hot Water Bottle Stay Warm?

A layer of natural wool sits between the outer fabric and the silk lining, adding gentle insulation and helping to hold the warmth for longer.

The wool also creates a softly padded layer between the hot water bottle and the body, allowing the warmth to feel gentle and comfortable against the skin.

Combined with the generous size of the bottle, it provides lasting warmth for the bed, the sofa or whenever you need a little extra warmth.

How Should I Fill My Hot Water Bottle Safely?

Untie the ribbon, open the cover at the top and carefully remove the stopper.

Fill the bottle slowly with hot, but not boiling, water to no more than two-thirds full. Hold the bottle upright and take care to avoid splashing.

Gently press the bottle to release excess air until the water reaches just below the opening, then replace the stopper securely. Check that there are no leaks before closing the cover and tying the ribbon.

Always handle a filled hot water bottle with care and follow the safety instructions supplied with the bottle.

Who Is a Silk Hot Water Bottle Good For?

Remove the rubber bottle before washing the cover. Wash on a wool or silk programme at a maximum of 30°C using a specialist wool and silk detergent. We recommend placing the cover in a washing bag for extra protection and washing it separately from heavier items.

Do not tumble dry. Gently reshape the cover while damp and lay flat or hang to dry away from direct sunlight. Iron on low heat if needed.
