Silk Sleep Mask

Crudwell

Sale price$280.00 USD

Description

The Crudwell Sleep Mask was inspired by a stay at The Old Rectory in Crudwell, a small English village surrounded by the rolling countryside of the Cotswolds.

Handcrafted from surplus Italian wool and linen tweed with a 100% pure mulberry silk lining, the mask is softly padded with natural wool. Its generous shape blocks out unwanted light to create a cocoon of darkness around the eyes, while the smooth silk sits softly against the delicate skin around the eyes.

The surplus tweed was found in limited quantity and given a new life in The Beauty Sleeper collection.

Days there unfolded between the old house, its garden and the surrounding countryside, with the kind of quiet that makes you notice the smallest things.

Textured, warm and quietly understated, Crudwell carries something of that English countryside with it.

Handmade in very limited quantities. Once the fabric is gone, it is gone.

The Beauty Sleeper Story

The Beauty Sleeper began with a simple desire to create a sleep mask beautiful enough to leave on the bed rather than hide in a drawer.

What started as a personal search for better sleep soon grew into a collection of objects for sleep and rest, inspired by travel, beautiful interiors and the things we choose to live with night after night.

Today, The Silk Sleep Mask remains at the heart of everything we do. Each one is handmade in small quantities, combining natural materials and careful craftsmanship with a design made to last beyond seasons.

Inspired by Crudwell

Inspired by a long weekend at The Rectory Hotel in the village of Crudwell, a small boutique hotel that was once home to the local rector and his fourteen children.

We arrived to tea and scones by a crackling open fire, and spent our days walking green country paths, listening to birds in the garden and falling asleep to the sound of almost nothing at all. Every night I opened the window to let the cool countryside air in before bed, and slept better than I had in a very long time.

Coming from the heart of Copenhagen, I was struck by how different the nights felt there. Darker, quieter and with the cool country air coming through the open window. The Crudwell Sleep Mask and Hot Water Bottles were born from the memory of those nights.
