About
The Beauty Sleeper was founded in Copenhagen in 2019 from a desire to create more beautiful and comforting rituals around rest and sleep.
At the heart of the collection is the signature silk sleep mask, handcrafted in small batches from 100% Mulberry silk alongside silk pillowcases, handmade hot water bottles, alpaca bed socks, and other comforting pieces designed to support calming evening rituals and more restorative sleep.
Guided by a love of natural beauty, thoughtful craftsmanship, and timeless design, The Beauty Sleeper creates pieces that support not only better sleep, but also a gentler and more grounded way of living.
Alongside the core collection, The Beauty Sleeper also creates limited-edition pieces crafted from carefully sourced surplus and deadstock fabrics including silk, wool, and linen, celebrating natural materials, small-scale production, and thoughtful craftsmanship.
Every piece is designed to be aesthetically pleasing, so beautiful that you’ll never want to hide it away in a drawer.
About Lotte Barnholdt Mahony
Lotte Barnholdt Mahony has spent more than a decade immersed in the world of high-end beauty, representing, amongst others, the iconic heritage brand Mason Pearson across Scandinavia, while developing a deep appreciation for natural beauty, craftsmanship, and slower living.
The Beauty Sleeper was born from Lotte’s own experience with interrupted sleep, sensitivity to light, and bedtime anxiety. After discovering how much something as simple as covering the eyes before sleep could calm the nervous system and encourage deeper rest, she began reimagining the traditional sleep mask into something softer, more luxurious, and aesthetically beautiful.
What began as a personal solution soon evolved into a mission: to help others experience the transformative power of something so simple, because a sleep mask, when beautifully made, really is one of the most effective tools for better sleep, every single night.
Today, Lotte’s work is deeply inspired by the contrast between city life in central Copenhagen and slower days spent in her small cottage in the rolling hills of Svanninge on the island of Funen, where she grew up and still spends time gardening, walking, and enjoying the simple life with close friends and family.
Thoughtful hospitality, natural materials, beautiful interiors, slower mornings, and the emotional comfort of feeling truly at ease continue to shape both her life and The Beauty Sleeper.
